For as long as I can remember, I thought I had things under control. I was doing the “right” things—staying active, pushing through stress, keeping up appearances. But deep down, I was exhausted. Something felt off.


In April 2024, I finally stopped avoiding it. I took a hard look at my thoughts, my habits, and the way I was treating myself. What I saw wasn’t pretty. I realized how much time I spent running—from my emotions, my fears, my unmet needs. Even my “healthy” habits—like intense workouts—were just another way to escape.


That moment of awareness changed everything. And not because I suddenly “figured it all out”—but because I stopped pretending I had to.

For so long, I believed I had to fix myself. That if I just had more willpower, more discipline, more control—I’d finally feel at peace. But what I really needed wasn’t more control. I needed compassion.
